Best “opinion” I have heard on the news…

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

I normally am not encouraged by everyone’s opinion on how our government should be run. There are a thousand talk shows with opinions on what Obama, or Bush are doing wrong. They all give us these “critiques” as if they were the President life would be better for all of us.

However, I believe we are to respect the office of the President, and I don’t believe it is our right to bad mouth him. Regardless of how poorly we feel he is doing; the truth is, we as a nation, put him into office. Secondly, none of us are in his shoes, nor do we work with the information he works with.

What is truly amazing about this clip is that, for once, someone is not pointing the finger at the White House, but rather to us, and our lack of respect for God in this nation. Please take a few minutes to watch this clip. Government replacing God?

Thoughts on 9/11

Sunday, September 13th, 2009

This week we remembered the terrorist attacks on 9/11. I don’t know if you remember that day, but I do. Some of our most important buildings were hit by 4 airplanes that were attempting to destroy the fabric of our nation. Almost 3000 people died.
Do you remember what happened after those attacks? People started going to church, and praying. People were nice to each other again, and people were proud to be American. It was like things got better in America.
You know, we should be careful. We as Christians can do that too. Sometimes we have something tragic happen in our life and we get scared. So we start to pray more, and be more obedient. We start listening in church more, and we desire to be really good Christians. The problem with that is God wants us to be like that all the time, not just when something sad happens. If you are living like God doesn’t care what you are doing, than he will wake you up! However, you don’t want God to have to get your attention. He should already have it. Decide that you are going to be a great Christian because he died for you and loves you. Not because you are scared God is going to hurt you.
